Help Jasmine Bring Community-Based Civics Research to SRCD!

Hello Family, Friends, and Community!

My name is Jasmine B. Johnson! I am a doctoral candidate studying Applied Developmental Psychology. I am also the first in my family to pursue graduate education. I recently was accepted to the Society for Research in Child Development 2025 Biennial Meeting in Minneapolis, MN, to present my applied work with Generation Citizen (a civic education organization) as a poster. My poster presentation is titled Community-Based Civics among Diverse Youth: Trends across State, Grade, and Community Type.

Despite being given this amazing opportunity to share my work and network with colleagues and prominent researchers, there are some financial obligations that I need help with. I have to pay for registration fees, flight, hotel, transportation, and food. The conference is May 1-3, 2025.

As a doctoral candidate, I have no stable income outside of my academic responsibilities, making it difficult to cover these costs on my own. I am reaching out to my community to ask for support in making this opportunity a reality. Any contribution—big or small—will help me attend this conference and continue my work in developmental psychology.
