I have bank statements showing that money has been coming out of my account for rent from the time I moved in until February 3rd, but I still don’t know who has been receiving these payments. I am doing everything I can to get a lawyer to sort this out, but in the meantime, I’ve lost everything—our clothes, furniture, personal belongings, and all the things that made our home feel safe and familiar.

As if that weren’t enough, I also had to give away my puppies during the eviction because I had nowhere to take them. They were my family, and it was heartbreaking to let them go, but I simply had no choice.

Now, to make matters worse, I’m trying to get us into a shelter, but I’ve run into another roadblock: I cannot access shelter without my son’s birth certificate (which was thrown out during the eviction), and I don’t have the money to replace it.
