This was not just a house. It was a legacy home, filled with more than 40 years of family history, memories, and love. Generations of the Holt family grew up within these walls. Jasmine had been working tirelessly to restore and bring the home back to life, pouring her heart, time, and resources into preserving a place that meant so much to their family story.

In just four minutes, that legacy home was destroyed.

At the time of the fire, the home was sheltering several members of the family: Uncle Tim and his wife Melanie, Jasmine and her three sons- Kai, Kobi, and Kaiden Edwards- one of Uncle Tim’s grandchildren Oddesty Brown, who is already carrying the unimaginable grief of recently losing her mother, Chiquitta https://www.youtube.com/live/gf8AFUdgM-A.

Just days ago, the family laid Chiquitta to rest after she tragically lost her life while crossing the road near their neighborhood. Her daughter Oddesty had been staying with Jasmine and the family as they supported one another through that painful loss. Now, in the midst of grieving her mother, she has also lost the home where she had been finding comfort and stability with family.

Thankfully, everyone escaped the fire safely, but the house and nearly all of their belongings were lost. Clothing, furniture, household items, and irreplaceable family keepsakes were destroyed.

In the midst of everything, Kaiden, the youngest of Jasmine’s three boys, looked at his mom and quietly asked:

“Mom… will we ever live in this house again?”

This family is now facing the heartbreaking task of starting over after losing a home that represented far more than just shelter. It carried more than a century of family history.
