Help Jarry get her gender reassignment surgery

My name is Jarry and I am currently saving and fundraising for my gender reassignment surgery.

I have thought long and hard about asking for any financial help and was initially resistant, but have come realise it’s just a mountain I cannot climb on my own, even with having several jobs.

As an ex professional baller dancer, I struggled for many years. As a male dancer, I was expected to be strong, manly and ‘straight’ acting on stage and trained to this effect. In life, I felt anything but, yet years of training and a true love for the art form left me burying what I was feeling - masking my emotions in alcohol, self abuse, depression and anxiety. I always knew, but hid these feelings in my love of dance. Only after leaving the professional ballet world was I able to start to my journey to find my true self.

As many people know the NHS waiting list is years and years long and prospects of it moving anywhere are slim to none. Only a select few are fortunate enough to go through this process and I know that in reality going privately is really my only option.

After finally accepting my true self and two and a half years of sobriety, I have got to a place in my life where I can be happy living in my true gender but desperately need surgery so I can move on with my life and feel complete.

After struggling daily for 32 years with dysphoria, hating aspects of myself that once seemed impossible to fix; it is so frustrating and upsetting to feel so close yet so far away due to financial resources.

Lots of friends have advised me that people may be willing and would want to help. So if that is the case, I would be eternally grateful for any donations of any size - be it from friends, family or just beautiful strangers that want to help a girl out.
