My name is Michelle Hamilton, and I’m reaching out with a mother’s heartfelt plea for support.

Jarrod has been living with lymphedema since he was just 12 years old, a condition that developed after a severe case of chickenpox damaged his lymph nodes. As a result, he has experienced chronic swelling, discomfort, and severe limitations in mobility. Lymphedema affects his day-to-day life in ways that many of us can’t imagine, and despite his strength and resilience, the ongoing health challenges are overwhelming.

Over the years, Jarrod has sought help through Centrelink, applying for support multiple times. Unfortunately, his requests have been repeatedly denied, leaving him without the financial assistance he desperately needs. Managing lymphedema requires specialized medical care, including compression garments, therapy, and regular treatments that are simply too costly for Jarrod to cover on his own.

Despite his condition, Jarrod does his best to work and support himself, but he can only manage about 15 hours a week. When he gets an infection in his leg, he often ends up in the hospital, making it impossible for him to work at all. This puts a massive financial strain on him, and while our family does everything we can to help, it’s not always possible to cover all the costs.

That’s where we need your help. We are raising funds to support Jarrod in his ongoing fight against lymphedema. The money raised will go directly toward:

• Covering the cost of medical treatments and consultations.

• Providing essential compression garments that help reduce swelling and discomfort.

• Helping with mobility aids and physical therapy to improve his daily life.
