I never thought I would do this. But here we are. Long story. Jarrod suffered a head injury last June with 3 brain bleeds and a concussion. He was flown out of the valley, but we managed to survive and are still paying on those bills.
Then this March 25 he had been sick several days, was struggling to breathe, and went to the doctor. His O2 levels were in the high 60s. They sent him to the hospital, and he was admitted on high flow O2. Finally, he was able to be on 5 liters of O2. He was there for 3 days. They say it was flu and no pneumonia. However, we came home on 4.5 liters of O2. We have slowly weaned down to 2 liters of O2, but he still falls when he gets off or moves around. We have to wait until May 8 for the lung specialist. And he cannot go to work in the Bodyshop on O2. Needless to say, his tanks only last about 2 hours. We have 30 minutes one way into town, and the welding and grinding is a danger with O2. He did quit smoking for anyone who wishes or needs to know. However, he has been in the autobody industry since the early 90s when no masks or precautions were needed. He allowed me to do this page. I have finally, after several attempts, filed a claim with FMLA. They should let us know in about 2 weeks. SSA didn't like his social. The generous boss he has is trying to pay him this week and struggling with at least paying him something so that he doesn't lose his insurance. I am struggling with thinking about going back to work full time. However, today after him fussing about me hovering, I was distracted with government sites and financial assistance, and he missed two of his breathing treatments. So needless to say, it's been a hard go since last June. I am trying to stay positive, working two side jobs right now, and contemplating another. However, I need to be confident he can function when I am not home. He finally relented that I could create this site to try and help until some sort of assistance kicks in. Emotional support is just as good!! Much love.
