Help Jarrett & His Family Recover from Cancer’s Financial Toll
One year ago, my brother-in-law, Jarrett, faced a life-changing diagnosis—stage 3 rectal cancer at just 40 years old. What started as unexplained bleeding in February quickly turned into a battle for his life. At first, he kept his symptoms to himself, embarrassed and unsure. But as things worsened, he finally told his wife, who immediately scheduled a colonoscopy. Four days later, they got the devastating news: cancer.
The months that followed were brutal. Radiation began immediately, bringing pain so intense he struggled to get out of bed. Then came chemotherapy, which drained him physically and emotionally. A port was placed for treatment (his kids now call him “Iron Man”), but constant delays due to low white blood cell counts made the fight even harder. Through it all, Jarrett kept pushing forward, even when he felt like giving up.
Then, finally, on November 14, 2024, he got the news we had all been praying for—he was in full remission. Cancer-free. But the journey isn’t over. He will need tests and scans every four months for the next five years, and the financial burden left behind is overwhelming. The cost of co-pays, scans, medications, and months without work has taken a huge toll on his family.
Jarrett has always been private about his struggles, but he gave me permission to share his story—not for sympathy, but in hopes that it might help someone else. And now, I’m asking for help on his behalf. No one should have to fight for their life and worry about keeping food on the table at the same time.
If you can donate, any amount will help relieve the financial strain on his family as they move forward from this nightmare. If you can’t donate, please share this post to help us reach as many people as possible.
Cancer is an awful battle, and while Jarrett won his fight, the aftermath is still being felt. Let’s show him and his family that they’re not alone.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. ❤️
