My name is Samantha, daughter of Jared Green. On Monday, August 11th, my Dad and Stepmom, Christine, were traveling through Kentucky on their motorcycle, headed home from West Virginia, when they were struck by a car. Both my dad and Christine sustained multiple injuries, including, but not limited to, fractured bones including ribs, punctured lung, road rash covering a significant amount of the body and bruising. My dad was life-flighted to UK in Lexington. Christine was taken to a county hospital and shortly after transferred to UK. I have set up this GoFundMe to help alleviate some of the financial burden that they will be facing now and in the upcoming months with specialists and rehabilitation. Every little bit helps. Update 8/14/25

Dad was admitted to the ICU last night after his lung deflated and began filling with blood. Early this morning, a chest tube was placed to help drain the fluid and re-expand the lung. He’s now on a pain pump, which has made him more comfortable and allowed him to get some much-needed sleep.

Christine has been discharged and hasn’t left Dad’s side since.

We’re incredibly grateful for the care he’s receiving and for the support from all of you. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as he continues to stabilize and as they recover.

Update 8/20/25

We’re so thankful to share that Dad has been discharged and is finally headed home. There’s still healing ahead and a journey to walk, but we’re beyond grateful that both he and Christine will be home together. Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers — please keep them coming as we continue moving forward.
