Please help young family recover from devastating car accident! In April of 2024, Jaquila Goodman, her fiance Sylvester Degrate, and their three-year-old daughter were driving near Huntsville, Texas on FM2989 in a severe thunderstorm, when their car hit a huge sinkhole in the road. The car plunged 25 feet into the sinkhole, and they were trapped in the car in the middle of rushing water. Despite both parents having broken bones, they were able to force the doors open and escape with their daughter, and then climb to safety. A passing driver helped them, and fire personnel and paramedics later arrived to help and to take them to the hospital.(See online news report:

Jaquila and Sylvester are very grateful to the many people who helped them after their traumatic accident. They still need help, however. They have dealt with broken bones, surgeries, and lost income due to ongoing medical issues and transportation problems, while working and being parents. Any financial amount you can give will be very much appreciated, and will go directly to Jaquila for the family. They will post updates as they are able. Thank you so much! Sincerely, Cherie L., on behalf of the family.
