✈️ Help Jaqlyne Represent at the HFES ASPIRE Conference in Chicago!

Hi friends, family, and supporters!
My name is Jaqlyne Hatfield, and I’m a Human Systems Engineering student at Arizona State University, specializing in user experience and innovation. I’m raising funds to attend the HFES ASPIRE Conference this October in Chicago, IL, and I would be so grateful for your support to make this dream a reality.

What is ASPIRE and Why It Matters

ASPIRE (Advancing Student Professional Integration and Readiness in Ergonomics) is a national conference hosted by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES)—a place where emerging professionals like me can:

• Network with leaders in human-centered design

• Participate in career development workshops

• Share and explore research and innovation

• Connect with industry mentors and peers

Attending this event is an opportunity to grow not only as a student, but as a future professional ready to bring more intuitive, inclusive, and sustainable solutions into the world.

Why I’m Asking for Support

As someone who is deeply committed to my education and future in human-centered design, I’m doing everything I can to fund this opportunity. However, conference registration, travel, lodging, and meals add up quickly. I’m currently working as a Shift Lead at Starbucks while going to school full-time, and even with careful budgeting, this trip stretches beyond what I can manage alone.

How Your Donation Will Help

Your contribution will help cover:

• ✈️ Round-trip airfare to Chicago (about $400)

• ️ 6 nights of hotel lodging near the conference center ($2,000+)

• ️ HFES ASPIRE student registration fee ($300)

• ️ Meals & transportation during the event ($1,000)

• Lost wages from missing work ($500)

Estimated total cost: $4,200

Every single donation—no matter the amount—brings me closer to this opportunity. Anything received over my goal will go towards the career workshops provided at the event.

A Note from Me

I’ve worked hard to build a foundation in Human Systems Engineering through hands-on projects, leadership, and academic dedication. This conference is the next step in making connections that can shape my future and help me contribute to meaningful, people-focused design.

If you’re able to give—or even share this link—I’d be beyond grateful for your support. Thank you for believing in me and helping me grow into the kind of human factors professional who can give back to others in the same way.
