We're back again - This time bringing you 4 more of our JP brethren to the Final™️ Climax of Night. Since this tournament is the final one of its series, we wanted to up the number of players we're bringing out and raise the stakes a bit with the level of talent. Now let's introduce the players we're trying to bring out this year.
Kyo (恭):
One of the OG Gordeau's in the game and winner of Evo Japan 2024. He was previously in America for Arc World Tour Finals in LA, however he's never been to NA otherwise to compete at a more grassroots event.
Tomio (とみお):
Byakuya legend in Japan. Most known for his Top 8 placement at EvoJapan 2024 and his 9th place at Stormy Night 2nd Fes. Also known for beating Ohittou in the Evo 2021 Online Uniclr bracket and placing 1st.
Ryu-Orie:
You thought you would be safe from another Japanese Orie player invading? Also placing 9th at Stormy Night 2nd Fes, he was the highest placing Orie player with wins over Alpacaman, Snappy and Nishine. Often streams himself playing to his youtube channel - https://www.youtube.com/@ryuorie2156/streams
DettyWhiteRock (でてぃ):
Has previously been known for his Top 8 finish in BBTAG at Evo 2018, is now known for his Tsurugi play in Uni2. At KGP 2024, he double eliminated WatanabeShachou as well as picked up wins on Pekepapa & Serosero for a 2nd place finish only behind Ohittou.
As of writing this (8/15), flights from Haneda to Atlanta are around $1520 each round trip and I have 2 hotel rooms booked for them at $681 for Thurs-Mon. The couple extra hundred should help buffer for taxes and in the event of the flight prices increase. If there's extra money it will be used to pay for a few meals for the players if able while they are here and to comp gas for anyone that might pick them up from the airport. In addition to all that, GFM also takes a small cut of the funds raised, so its to account for that as well.
Anything helps and this would be a great opportunity to bring some great players over here to experience what a North American tournament is like that normally wouldn't have this opportunity.
