Hi everyone,
Our names are Janu and Priya Patel, and we are excited to share that we have qualified for National History Day 2026 after competing at the local, regional, and state levels here in Connecticut! This is our first year going to Nationals, and we are so proud to have made it this far.
This year, we created a project about the Bengal Famine of 1943 and how it fed Reaction, Revolution, and Reform, focusing on how history, science, and social justice connect. We spent months researching, writing, designing our exhibit, and presenting it at competitions. All of that hard work paid off we earned a spot at the National Competition this June!
National History Day has taught us so much from research and writing to public speaking, creativity, and confidence. Going to Nationals is an amazing opportunity to meet students from across the country who share the same passion for history and learning.
However, attending Nationals comes with a lot of expenses. We are raising funds to help cover:
- Travel
- Hotel accommodations
- Transportation
- Meals
- Competition fees and project materials
We’re asking for support from family, friends, and our community to help make this dream possible. Any donation big or small would mean so much and help us proudly represent Connecticut at the national level.
If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser would still help a lot.
Thank you so much for supporting our education, our hard work, and this incredible opportunity!
— Janu & Priya Patel
