Help Jantilyn Get the Life-Changing Surgery She Desperately Needs.
Our beloved Jantilyn has been battling severe pain from grade 4 endometriosis for years. Most of this time was spent either undiagnosed or misdiagnosed and getting brushed off by multiple physicians. Many of her complaints were simply dismissed as being exaggerated or imagined. This chronic condition has taken a devastating toll on her life, with the most recent flare-up causing her excruciating pain since June 2024. In July, she underwent a procedure in hopes of finding relief, but instead, it worsened her condition, making everyday activities—like walking or standing—nearly impossible. She had just begun her teaching career and was now confined to the couch or bed.
After seeking specialized care, Jantilyn was referred to Dr. Jose Eugenio-Colon at the Center for Endometriosis, a leading expert in excising endometriosis rather than ablating it. Dr. Eugenio-Colon's approach is the only option that has the potential to stop the disease from progressing further into her tissues, which has happened to Jantilyn twice before.
However, there is a significant obstacle: Dr. Eugenio-Colon is out of network, and unfortunately, he will not be covered by insurance for Jantilyn’s surgery. She is scheduled for surgery on January 8th, but to proceed, we need to come up with $10,000 by January 6th to cover the initial surgery costs, in addition to the hospital deductible. Jantilyn will also require hospitalization for 3-5 days, and afterward, her mother will have to take extended time off work to care for her, resulting in a significant loss of income.
The road to recovery will take at least 8 weeks, meaning Jantilyn won’t be able to start her job search during this time. As a family, they are facing mounting medical bills and day-to-day living expenses, and they are struggling to make ends meet.
This family has never been one to ask for help, but they find themselves in an incredibly difficult situation. We are reaching out to you, our community, in hopes of raising enough funds to cover the $10,000 needed for surgery and to help ease the burden of the additional costs. Any amount you can contribute—no matter how small—will make a world of difference to Jantilyn and her family during this challenging time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, compassion, and generosity. Your help will allow Jantilyn to get the surgery she desperately needs and start the journey toward a better, pain-free life.
