Help Janine and her girls

Janine Kallen (formerly Bohlman) is a self-employed music teacher, children’s book distributor, single-mom of two, and a beloved friend to so many in her community.

What you may not know is that in the last year, Janine was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency. In short, her body cannot digest food on its own, which has resulted in a sudden and significant weight loss, and malnourishment. She is also suffering from a hereditary connective tissue disorder, all of which has made it very nearly impossible for her to work and parent due to intense periods of pain.

Janine is scheduled to have pelvic floor surgery on February 26, 2024 to correct her rectocele, cystocele, and urethrocele. It is a major surgery, with 3 months of intense recovery to follow.

Janine's ability to work and support her family has and will continue to be significantly compromised during her recovery. We are calling on everyone who loves Janine to help support her through this challenging time. She will need to cover at least 3 months of rent and basic expenses, so anything you can give would be so deeply appreciated. If you cannot give financially but would still like to contribute somehow, please contact us for ideas of other things that might be helpful to Janine and her children.
