Hi everyone! I am Janice (Apol to most of my family & friends), and I truly appreciate you taking your time to read our story.
In September 2024, my dad, my siblings, and I had our lives changed when my mom was diagnosed with AML (acute myeloid leukemia). We know it’s going to be a long, painful, and expensive process for our family, but with God’s grace, we know we can survive this. A few months had passed, with monthly chemotherapy treatments and almost weekly blood transfusions, our mom is still fighting. A week before her 75th birthday, we received another devastating news. Our dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that metastasized to his brain. This news truly shattered us. Both our parents, in a span of 6 months, were diagnosed with a very serious health condition. A few days ago, our dad was rushed to the hospital again because he can’t breathe. Doctors had to do a pigtail drainage procedure on him to drain the fluids from his lung. As of this moment, he is still in the hospital, weak and unable to walk or sit up without assistance.
Our parents have always been our rock. They are both very selfless people. It really breaks my heart to see them suffer. It’s even more sad that I live thousands of miles away from them. All I have to do is wait for any news from my siblings in Manila.
Chemo treatments, medicines, and hospital bills are piling up. Because of this, we are knocking on your generous hearts for any help you can give our family. No amount is too small, and any amount given will truly make a big impact. Most importantly, we also hope you can include our parents in your prayers.
I would also like to thank all our family, relatives, friends, and coworkers who have helped us and are still helping us with our journey. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I would also like to ask if you can share this with anyone you know. Thank you, and may God bless us all.
