Help Janice Rebuild After Hurricane Milton
Donation protected
My mom, Janice Perkins, a loving mother and devoted grandmother, recently experienced the unimaginable. Hurricane Milton tore through her life, leaving her home and everything she’s worked for in ruins. My mom has lost everything.
To make matters worse, she was denied insurance. No insurance company would cover a modular home of this type or age in our area, leaving her completely unprotected when the storm hit. Now, everything is gone, and she has nowhere to turn.
For those who know Janice, you know how fiercely independent she is, always putting others first and finding strength in taking care of things herself. But this storm has left us with no choice but to reach out for help—a step that does not come easily for either of us. My family and I are doing everything we can to support her, but the financial burden is so great that we cannot do it alone.
We are at a crossroads, faced with three daunting options:
1. Attempt to salvage what little remains and restore her home,
2. Demolish the remnants and rebuild from the ground up, or
3. Move Mom into an assisted living facility, away from the community of friends and neighbors who mean the world to her.
Financially, the burden of these options is overwhelming, and my mom is not capable of making this next step alone. We are humbly asking for help from our friends, family, and anyone moved by her story. Any contribution will go towards rebuilding her life, whether it be restoring her current home or giving her a place to call her own once again.
Janice is strong, resilient, and full of love—qualities that will help her through this. But right now, she needs a hand. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any support you can offer.
