Help Jani recover from Covid

When I contracted it in early December 2021, I was fully vaccinated – with no underlying conditions. But for some reason, I ended up with a more aggressive variant and I'm now hospitalized with reduced lung function. 

The prognosis is that I will survive, but the worse is still ahead and it may take months to fully recover. When I ultimately return home, I will initially be hooked to an oxygen tank until I can rebuild my lung function and breathe on my own.

There are, however, still many hurdles before I can even think about returning home.

What do I need money for?

My hospital stay should be fully covered by medical insurance, as far as I know. But as a self-employed business owner, I don’t have a safety net when it comes to vacation or sick days. The past 18 months have been hard for my business, and I’ve braced through it mostly by burning my savings.

I'm a video game developer, and I have designed and programmed a game for Xbox that is completed and in the Microsoft certification process. This is what is supposed to make a living for our family in the near future. There is currently one known show-stopper that I need to fix before the game can be released. However, I can only fix that after I'm well enough to return home and do some work. Hence, the game profits is in the elusive future at this point.

I'm the sole breadwinner of our family of six, including my wife and four young kids. Mortgage, utility bills and other expenses rack up quickly while I'm recovering. When times get tough, I would normally supplement income with some consulting, but obviously that isn't an option now.
