This past year has been the most challenging of my life. I lost my oldest daughter a year ago this month, and just one month after her passing, I was diagnosed with endometrial uterine cancer that had spread to my lymph nodes. Grieving her loss was put on hold as I began an aggressive treatment regimen: 35 radiation sessions, 6 cycles of chemotherapy, immunotherapy infusions, 5 blood transfusions, and 3 hospital stays. The treatments were intense and exhausting, but I recently finished radiation and chemotherapy, leaving 6 tumors that have shrunk but not disappeared. I am now in remission, according to my latest PET scan, but I still need ongoing immunotherapy every six weeks for the next 2.5 years.
Throughout this journey, I have relied solely on my elderly parents for transportation to my medical appointments, which are an hour away. They have been my lifeline, but their own health issues and age make it difficult for them to continue supporting me in this way. I am disabled by the state of Arkansas and have very limited funds each month after paying for bills, food, and medication. The stress of not having my own reliable transportation has weighed heavily on me and my family.
I am asking for help to raise money for a mechanically sound vehicle, either to pay outright or as a down payment with manageable monthly payments. Having my own car or truck would allow me to attend my appointments independently and ease the burden on my parents, giving them more time to focus on their own health. Any support you can offer would mean the world to me and help me continue my healing journey. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
