On behalf of Janet’s children Sarah, Amy, Emily and Kyle we are reaching out to ask people if they are in anyway able to donate to help our mum, your friend Janet, with her ongoing medical costs and financial strain.

Janets cancer journey started with a rare lymphoma a couple of years back that was treated through radiation that turned into an aggressive diffuse large B cell non-Hodgkins lymphoma late last year. Janet has been undertaking chemotherapy since the start of the year and still has several treatments to stop the cancer from moving to her brain. On top of this Janet is dealing with other health issues caused by Sjogren’s Syndrome which is an autoimmune disorder and diabetes. Mum is struggling to get out of bed, struggling to eat, even being able to walk to the toilet she loses her breath.

Our family are not people who ask for handouts, for those of you who know Janet know how hard working she is. She is an Aussie battler; she has worked in the same job for Monash Health for over 35 years! Unfortunately, through all her health issues over the last several years she has exhausted all her sick leave and annual leave entitlements. She has been unable to work all year due to chemotherapy treatment which has had a huge financial impact on her.

She is a 71-year-old single woman, she doesn’t have a partner or other means of support to help her financially. Due to this Janet plans to return to work in June or July. Our family are very concerned that she needs more time to recover from her treatment. Janet still has a long road ahead of her with treatments and recovery. Our family we would love to give mum the opportunity to have more time to get well again.
