Help Janet stay well

To our beautiful family and friends,
I have known Janet Wornes since I was 16. She is the dearest of friends and a woman whose vibrant warmth and loving spirit touches everyone she meets. She is loved by many !
Janet has faced multiple battles with cancer over the past 22 years and on each occasion, she has defied the odds with hard work, determination and working closely with her treating team.
Her first diagnosis came in 2003 with breast cancer which required six months of chemotherapy and a double mastectomy. In 2010, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and then in 2022, her breast cancer metastasized into bone cancer.
During this time, in 2015, Janet’s gorgeous daughter Emily was having the holiday of her life in South America when she fell 10 meters through a floor in a Peruvian hotel. On impact with the floor below Emily’s L3 vertebra in her spine ‘exploded’, she’d shattered her right elbow, broke her feet, her toes and her pelvis. Whilst she has also ‘defied the odds’ and has made a wonderful recovery she has ongoing health issues and Janet and her beautiful husband Ronnie moved to the Sunshine Coast to enable them to be able to give Emily the care and support she needs. Janet’s involvement in Emily’s life is invaluable.
For the past three years, Janet has dedicated herself wholeheartedly to a healthy lifestyle and ongoing treatments, but she has recently received the devastating news that the cancer has now spread to her abdomen and colon. As a result she is undergoing chemotherapy for a second time. This is extremely harsh on her body and isn’t guaranteed to be effective. To combat this, Janet and Ronnie have been researching and speaking to their community about alternative complimentary treatments. Next month, they will be going to Hope4Cancer, a world-renowned Integrative Cancer Centre in Mexico. This centre offers an all-encompassing approach that includes immunotherapy, detoxification and emotional and mental healing – aiming to address the root causes of cancer and give Janet the best possible chance at a full recovery, as it has with other patients who have attended the centre.
The cost of treatment is significant (approximately $120,000 per patient) and requires multiple trips to and from Mexico for ongoing check ups. To help ease the financial pressures on the family during this challenging time, I’ve set up a GoFundMe campaign to assist with expenses.
We understand that times are tough financially and peoples’ financial situations vary, but any contribution (big or small) would be so greatly appreciated and would go directly towards Janet’s recovery journey.
