Help Janet Rebuild After Hurricanes Helene and Milton

Where do I begin? My name is Janet Deitz. I am the mother of 2 incredible boys, Nehemiah, who just turned 14 on Oct 4th, and Jayden, who is 12. I live in our home on S Betty Lane in Clearwater, FL, which was severely impacted by 2 major hurricanes. This is unbelievably difficult for me to do because I am not the type to ask for help. I get embarrassed and tell myself, "Other people need it more," or "You can figure it out another way." However, as of right now, I don't know what else to do or where else to turn.

My home has significant damage due to not only Hurricane Helene, but also a direct hit from Hurricane Milton one week later. I was already working on saving to get the roof done before Helene because I could not get homeowners insurance that would cover it until I got it redone. However, after Helene and Milton, it just added so much more destruction. I lost well over half of my shingles, the top metal part of my roof was either blown or knocked completely upward to the point you can see straight through to the outside through the roof in several spots. I now have leaking inside my home as well because of that. I have tarp over the holes as well as inside my roof; however, it will only last so long.

After Helene and now Milton, I was unable to return to work immediately because my employer also lost power. I am EXTREMELY grateful to still have my home because I know others weren't as lucky. My biggest fear was not having anywhere to go with 2 children, but someone was watching over us during this chaotic nightmare. As embarrassing as it is for me to reach out for help, I just truly need it right now. I am genuinely trying my best to make it right on my own; however, like many others in my situation, it's feeling impossible without some type of help. Any funds that may be donated are going directly into the restoration of my roof and damages caused by these horrific storms. I will gladly post updates and receipts to show that the funds are being used as previously stated. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for even reading all of this.
