In March 2022, I experienced my first seizure while driving home from work. Since then, my life has changed in ways I never could have imagined. The seizures became more frequent, and I started losing my memory. In January 2024, after almost a decade with the same company, I lost my job because I began having seizures at work. It’s been incredibly hard to adjust, especially since I was an HR and payroll manager and now struggle to speak and spell words I once used every day.
Despite having brain surgery in April 2025, I’ve been denied disability twice. My family has done everything they can to help, but with four kids to care for and no income, it’s been impossible to keep up. I’m waiting for my chance to speak to a disability judge, but that could take up to 13 months. In the meantime, I have no way to pay my mortgage, electric bills, or provide the necessities my kids need. Past due bills are piling up, and I’m doing everything I can to keep us afloat.
It’s taken me eight months to find the courage to ask for help. I feel so vulnerable and embarrassed, but I know my kids deserve better and we truly need the support. If you’re able to donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You really don’t know what it means to us. Thank you for reading and for any help you can give.
