Support to the Albright Family.

Hello, my name is Taylor Howe. I truly appreciate you taking the time to raise money in support of Jane and her family. Jane was in very serious motorbike accident on 9/8/2024. She is currently in the ICU at OSF Hospital in Peoria, IL. She will undergo a very serious/extensive facial surgery to reconstruct the injuries she sustained. Jane is a very brave, strong and courageous 10 year old girl who has a very long road ahead of her. Kyle and Karli (Jane’s parents) have two younger boys, and are 8 months pregnant with their fourth child. Any donations would help alleviate any financial strain they are going to face as Kyle will be off work. This will also include help with their lodging in Peoria, food, and any gas to drive back and forth from their home to the hospital. I appreciate any and all donations to go towards this family in need. Thank you!

918 Update -
After 10 long days, Jane is FINALLY coming home today!! I have no doubt this girl will continue to crush this next journey on her recovery at home!! God is so good!

9/13 Update - 8:00pm
Jane is doing amazing we went from drinking 3 oz yesterday, to 8 oz today. They turned her IV down a few since she is in taking more fluids herself. We did have to change out her IV and it was a pain free experience so that was a plus compared to the other time they went to do the IV. She has been up and walking around. Been in great spirits all day. We got a lot of dry blood and gunk off her face lips and nose so good. Her swelling has gone down a lot it’s more bruising and discolored skin because the bruises are going through the fazes of black purple and now yellow. They will come check her nose tomorrow because one nostril is obstructed due to snot blood and whatever else and we think it might be stuck to her stent. It’s pretty hard and lodged in there. So the surgeon team will assist that because no one else can touch it. We just gotta keep on drinking more liquids they want us to have at least 1275 calories for her to get the nutrition she needs plus, drinking at least 100 oz of other liquids to sustain hydration. And she needs to do it consistently for a while and also get one bowl movement in.
Grace and I were able to FaceTime with Jane today, and let me tell you, this girl looks AMAZING! You can really tell the swelling has gone down, along with her bruising. Her speech has gotten better, and she just has a sparkle in her eye! This girl continues to amaze me everyday with how strong she is. I can’t wait to see her tomorrow.

9/13 update -
Yesterday was such a rollercoaster of emotions. Jane had a lot of moments of defeat not feeling like she was progressing, between the drinking ensure and hating what she looks like due to the swelling. Then we would have moments of drinking a lot and going for walks and being up beat. The doctors and surgeons said we are in the home stretch of things. We just need to get to our calorie/ nutrition needs. She did have a lot better of a sleep tonight so we are hoping that will boost more drinking today. They said she would need 4 ensures to meet her requirements for nutrition. Unfortunately we haven’t even been able to drink one whole one yet. We plan to try other flavors today, she did try some chicken broth and loved it. Besides the nasal drip nothing is bothering her and she is doing amazing at healing. They will just continue to monitor the drip on her nose but it is normal due to the severity of trauma and way she shattered that bone.
Please all continue to pray for Jane and her healing process and that she starts to get the nutrients that she needs. I have no doubt that she’s going exceed all expectations.

9/12 Update -
Jane had a pain free night but was up a lot using the restroom. Today's goal is to get cleared for a liquid diet not just clear liquids then try to reach her calorie goal. It might be overwhelming at first but depending on how she does will give us an idea of how long we are here still. The more she drinks the less IV bag they will give her, then we will work on spreading out her pain medicine over a long time and see how she does with that. She's got to keep moving, walking, and sitting up. Those will help with swelling they said she is at her peak of swelling one half of her face is great the other side is still swollen. She has some drainage from her nose since it's slowly starting to heal, all normal. CT scan was all clear. It’s all now on Jane to intake a certain calorie count, for her body to allow bowl movements and also how she handles her pain management without pain meds. Jane still continues to show major improvement and progress! This girl is going to be on the fast track to coming home soon.

Update 9/11 - 5:30pm
We have not got any report on the CT scan but Jane did get approved to drink apple juice ensure. So she is getting something to drink with some calories instead of just water and she absolutely loves it! She also technically she is moved to intermediate side( same floor but on the other side) but they don’t have any rooms available so we are still in the same room but technically out of the ICU.
Such an amazing update! Jane is showing amazing strides and strength.

Update 9/11-1:30
Our babygirl is using the restroom, she took a shower, she went for a walk inside and outside. She checked out a rock garden they have. She is figuring out how to drink from a straw. They said she is showing every sign to move to the other side of this floor by possibly tonight. to the intermediate side where she won’t have to be watched all the time they check vitals every 4 hours they usually take the IV out. They also are trying to find a way to bring nutrients into her diet thru a straw I am so excited!

Update 9/11 -
Jane had the best night sleep since we have been here, her swelling has obviously increased due to the procedure as well as timing since the accident. they believe she will peak in swelling by this afternoon and then hopefully we start going down. Game plan today is to get her up and moving, making her go to the bathroom sit in a chair and hopefully start getting some fluids swallowed. They are just concerned with not getting enough nutrition so usually they do a feeding tube but with her nose situation that isn’t an option yet. So waiting for the surgeon and his team to give some feed back and also review that CT scan they took this morning.

God continues to put his healing hands on Jane! Please continue to pray for her recovery.

Update 9/10 - 8:30pm.

Jane is out of surgery, and everything went amazing! Surgery took a little longer than expected due to the prep but she is back in the room breathing on her own doing great! They have her on Tylenol and a very strong ibuprofen, 3 hours in between, and then morphine for the break through.

God has his healing hands on this little girl. Let’s pray that she has an easy and restful night tonight.

Update 9/10 - 1:30
Jane has had a great morning/afternoon, she has gotten up a few times to move around, and talking some!! 2nd round of surgery is scheduled for 3:00 today. Drs aren’t pleased with how her jaw is currently sitting, they’re going in to make some adjustments.

Jane continues to be strong and fighter! Please say a prayer as she heads into surgery this afternoon.

Update as of this morning 9/10. -
We had a little bit of a rough night. She was tossing and turning, her IV’s had moved and got up into her arm so she was in a lot of discomfort between that and then taking the tape off them and resting them. Then she let her pain get a little ahead of her so we had to get something to get her back to comfortable. She is going to the restroom fine and sleeping now. She also wanted to try to drink out of a straw but do to her lip laceration she can’t quite make the suction on her lips. So we are just slowly dropping water into her mouth for a little something.

Please continue to pray hard for Jane. She’s a warrior and a fighter!!
Update -
Jane is out of surgery, everything went great! Waiting on the surgeon to come in to discuss the next steps and what the road to recovery will look like.

Update -
As of 4pm Jane is still currently in surgery, please please please pray!

Update -
Jane is going into surgery now. Going to be a 4 hour surgery they did confirm they will be wiring her mouth shut, they will be reconstructing her nose, she will get a plate in her face to fix her maxilla bone, and lastly repair her lip laceration. Please pray hard for this surgery to go well and that she is taken care of during and after. They can’t confirm if she will continue to be intubated after surgery, just depends on how it all goes.

Update from the family -
Update on Jane she was Life flighted to OSF in Peoria, she is in the ICU. She has no trauma or bleeding to her brain, neck or spine. She is breathing and swallowing on her own as long as swelling doesn’t affect her air way they won’t intubate her. They held off on surgery until tomorrow when the pediatric plastic surgeon was available. We know forsure she has shattered her nose and septum also believe her maxilla lastly a fracture on her orbital bone. Praying God protects her during surgery and is with the surgeons while they operate on her. Hopeful they won’t wire her mouth shut and that she won’t need to be intubated long after surgery. Thank you all for your prayers and support. Please continue to pray for Jane while we continue this heartbreaking road to recovery and any other obstacles we may face in the days to come.
