My name is Cerise Herndon, raising funds on behalf of Jane-Michelle Auman, my girlfriend for the last 12-ish years. I'm raising this money on her behalf, due to her current challenges with identification. Since she is the one most affected, I'll let her describe the situation in her own words:

Hello,

My name is Jane-Michelle O.S. Auman, I'm a transgender anime critic, musician, and blogger. I am also, unfortunately, very poor, which is a problem, because I need to get a root canal done. I've been living with a busted molar for over a year and despite trying to go to a local free dental clinic for some time, things have hit their breaking point and this needs to be taken care of ASAP before it gets any worse. Due to the general incompetence of both the federal government and my state's government specifically, I am having to do this without insurance, without a government ID, and with essentially no funds to draw from at all. This procedure is expected to run somewhere in the range of $3500-$4000, which is simply not money I can come up with on my own.

To that end, it's my hope that the queer community in Chicagoland and around the world might be able to help me here. Several thousand is a lot for one person, but I'm hoping I can reach enough people with this post that it won't be too much to ask of any one person. If you can donate any amount at all---even just a dollar---it would be an immense help, and if you can't donate, sharing the post among any friends or family you may have helps too. I don't like having to do this---traditional jobs are closed off to me due to my ID situation, so the only "work" I've had for the past several years has been maintaining my site, I've been living off of donations from that---but I'm out of options, so I'm coming to you heart on sleeve and hat in hand, here. Please help!
