Our dear friend, Janelle, is undergoing a major health battle that requires our collective support. On Wednesday, she will be having a mastectomy and lumpectomy to treat her condition. While we are relieved to have a concrete next step, Janelle and her partner, Fran, are facing a challenging four-week recovery period—both medically and financially.

Janelle's recovery is estimated to take six to eight weeks. During this time, she will be healing from surgery and waiting for biopsy results that will determine her subsequent treatment plan.

To provide the necessary care, Janelle's partner, Fran (a contractor), will have to turn away four weeks of work. As Fran does not receive a paycheck when she doesn't work, this loss of income means they will struggle to cover basic living expenses, on top of the inevitable medical expenses they are already incurring.

This fundraiser is specifically to help them make ends meet (covering rent, utilities, and groceries) and contribute toward the medical costs from the procedure and ongoing tests.
