Hi, my name is Janeffa. I'm a disabled midlife woman living with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, PTSD, and Essential Tremors. I use a cane, adaptive aids, and I've had to rebuild my life more times than I can count. I used to be an Occupational Therapy Assistant, helping stroke survivors and rehab patients rebuild their lives. I was good at it. I loved it. But in 2022, my body said "no more," and I could no longer work. Since then, I've been on SSDI, navigating the challenges of living with chronic illness while trying to find a new way to serve.
Now, I'm building something new: Reclaiming Me, Gently, a platform to help women with chronic illness stop hiding and start rebuilding without shame. I want to speak, coach, and create a community where women like me can heal and thrive. On May 6-7, 2026, there is a conference called Speak to Freedom Live that will teach me how to build my public speaking business, give me raw footage for my speaker reel, and connect me with a mentor and like-minded individuals who can help me grow. This is the exact training I need to take my mission to the next level.
But here's the reality: I'm on a very fixed income, and attending this conference is beyond my current means. I'm working every angle I can to make this happen—grants, resources for disabled entrepreneurs, and now, asking my community for help. If you can contribute, I'd be so grateful. If you can't, sharing this campaign means the world to me. Every bit of support gets me closer to being in that room, learning the skills I need to serve women who need to know they can rebuild too. Thank you for being part of my journey. Janeffa
