After being laid off in May 2025, I’ve spent the past 10 months actively searching for work. Sending out countless applications, receiving many rejections, and attending a few interviews that unfortunately did not lead to a job offer.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve experienced multiple layoffs due to companies downsizing & Shutting down, despite my commitment to working and rebuilding each time.

During this period, especially these couple of months, I’ve been struggling to get by, relying on borrowed support just to cover basic needs like rent, food, and transportation.

Because of this, I’ve made the difficult decision to return to my birth country, Kenya, after more than 18 years away. In my 50s, I’m hoping to relearn, rebuild, and start again with stability and dignity.

Your support will help with my transition, including a one-way ticket back to my home country, Kenya, and shipping my important belongings instead of continuing to pay for storage, which adds to the cost, and the essentials I need to restart my life.
