Hi- my name is Jane. I'm a young intersex woman in the Twin Cities.
The gist is: I'm asking for $800 to get me through August expenses and to replace my dying phone and phone.
Here's more info if you care to read:
I've been utterly abandoned by my abusive family that forced me to go through hypgonadism and had non-consensual corrective surgeries performed on me- that have lead to significant neurological, pelvic floor damage, musculoskeletal decay and likely osteoporosis. I've never had the social connections to make long-term friends or a romantic partner. As a result- I've spent the 7 years of being an adult focused on short-term decisions to ensure my base safety, and a medical work-up to better understand my body and get well again. I lack the support needed to become properly independent and stable. I've been through a lot the past few months- homelessness, belongings being stolen/thrown out and continued health issues. While I'm working to get on SSI, VRS, GA, a SMRT assessment, and am looking for part-time and gig work- the timeframe on things working out has not been great. I was banking on part-time work working out this month to make August bills, but that fell through last minute. In addition, my laptop is progressively dying- the webcam, microphone are out- and its no longer holding a charge; and my phone's microphone and battery are failing. I need to replace both so I can apply for jobs, keep track of doctor's appointments, my medical information, navigate my legal cases, attend virtual counseling and doctor's visits- and eventually return to college and digital art. It is absolutely vital.
Therefore- I'm asking for $800to cover August expenses (rent, utilities), repair my phone and laptop (was given a quote for a $170 repair locally!) and carry me through these next few months. I'm confident with the help of my ARMHS worker, legal advocates and case worker that I'll be able to access these needed services like SSI, GA and a Cadi Waiver.
Thank you all so much!
