Help Jane Rebuild Her Life After Devastating Fire

Life can change on a dime, as just did with our dear sister-mother-friend-aunt Jane Faulkner. Just days ago, her rented apartment, near the heart of the Pacific Palisades and Pacific Coast Highway running along the Pacific Ocean, was close to the epicenter of the massively destructive and immense Palisades Fire in LA. Now it and the entire community is completely gone, reduced to ashes along with all of her possessions.

On January 8, with little warning, Jane was forced to evacuate as the fire grew near. She fled her apartment, breathing through thick smoke, concerned about her lungs due to a serious lung condition. She joined a slow-moving gridlock of cars trying to escape. Some drivers abandoned their vehicles but Jane and others persevered, navigating a chaos of wind, sirens, honking horns, and helicopters overhead. Hours later she arrived safely at a friend’s house in another part of the city where she is staying for now.

The emergency immediate-evacuation-order was so urgent Jane had to leave in an instant and was unable to take anything with her, not even her purse. Family photos, cherished letters, art, and countless other keepsakes were left behind. Even her large safe, containing irreplaceable belongings melted in the blaze. In addition to the heartbreak, her life savings, invested in cryptocurrency and precious metals, were lost and are unrecoverable.

At 72, Jane now faces the daunting task of rebuilding her life from scratch. She had her coaching business in her home office, so now she doesn’t even have a work base to return to. Despite this profound loss, she remains resilient, drawing on her courage, faith, and conviction to find more work to rebuild her retirement funds. She is deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support that she has already received and is committed to helping others who are also recovering from the devastation of the Los Angeles fires.
