My name is Amanda Amid. Due to a series of unfortunate circumstances and the pandemic, a dear friend of mine, a woman aged 63 who would like to remain anonymous and will be referred to as Jane - has been facing a very challenging moment in her life.

 

She lost her home and has been living on the streets for a few months. She was in the process of finishing her masters and trying to help her mother who has been in a memory care unit because of her health.

Because of being homeless  and having to walk many miles everyday to get from one place to another (as a way to survive the streets), her health has run down and her feet, ankles and legs are swollen. This also prevents her from getting to any type of job currently, because she is not physically able to do so, and doesn’t have a way to heal. Also, she lives in a cold state, North Carolina, and living on the streets is not suitable for a 63 year old woman.

The money raised will help her pay 3 months of rent in winter, during which time she hopes to get her health & life back together and organized and to be able to find a job so she can continue paying rent, live in a home, keep a job, continue helping her mother, and finish her degree.
