Update:
Look, I don't want to be homeless again. I don't want to go through being SA'd in a shelter and losing most of my possessions again. Its simply not safe for me. My new goal is $1,880- of which we're already 60% of the way to. This comprises rent to keep me housed until around Labor day, my phone bill, share of internet bill and credit card bill. The reality is that while I'm waiting to get approved for SSI, for my SMRT review, General Assistance, and am looking for part-time work- the world just sucks right now. I'm not getting much traction and I need to do what I can. If you resent me for asking for so much help- I dunno, just scroll past this and call me a bitch.
I did an SSI interview a few weeks ago, and was warned that it may be upwards of six months before I get approved or denied- before I would even start getting checks. I've applied multiple times, have extensive documentation and a medical support system willing to advocate for me- but approval's not a guarantee, and I could have to appeal it.
General Assistance in Minnesota's been made more difficult to get on, and is tied up in the SMRT review process, of which I'm still in limbo for. That can take upwards of a year.
I'm hopeful that by Labor day, I'll have some sort of an income stream or part-time job to tide me over until I can get on SSI and general relief. :)

Hi, my name’s Jane! I’m an Autistic intersex woman with several chronic disabilities in the Twin Cities. I’m undergoing a medical work up, waiting to get approved for SSI over the next few months, and get closer to my SMRT review and Cadi waiver; but as of now, I lack an income stream and the means to work. I lack transportation and support. No family, friends or partner. I found myself homeless, and my most recent housemates misplaced a box with valuables, some of which I'd planned to sell to make ends meet. I'll have to pursue my options, but that'll take time. I’ve found a private room that I’ve been in for the past few weeks, and am $300-400 off from making July expenses. Anything extra would go towards other necessities. The rental assistance programs my case worker sent me are booked out, so I’m resorting to asking for charity. Would anyone be able to help or pitch in? :(
