Hi, my name's Jane. You know why I'm here.

I'm chronically disabled, visibly intersex and hazily ambiguous in a country that's decimated it's social safety nets, and is actively hostile to people like me. I'm between housing situations, and anticipating several major surgeries/procedures (laparascopic biopsy; cystoscopy; restorative bottom surgery)- that'll long term allow me to be able to walk again, or not have as debilitating pelvic sciatica, or even so much as urinate correctly. I'm still reintegrating into physical therapy, and am working to get a SMRT assessment, an ARMHs worker, a Cadi waiver, a VRS appointment and to get on SSI. Some of this has been delayed as I've had to escape a toxic living situation and move on short notice, over the past month.

I've asked around mutual aid circles, and everything's come up dry. So here I am again:

I'm crowdfunding about $515 to cover clothes, ergonomic bras (it's been 5 years since I've been fitted), makeup, April utilities, a week of groceries while I wait for the county to recertify my SNAP, my phone bill, my credit card bill- so that I'm better prepared for VRS/SSI/part-time job interviews; and carry myself through these next few weeks.

I could say that I'm frustrated that I'm having to make my fifth Gofundme within a year; that I'm doing the internet equivalent of panhandling; or that I'm going into specifics about my medical history or finances- but I've reconciled this as my lot in life, as I try to achieve stability for myself.
