................HELP SAVE MAPLEWOOD FARM.................
To all those who have been deeply affected by the long year of Covid battles, I am truly sorry for your losses. We thankfully have escaped the virus but sadly our income has plummeted to an all time low. Our farm is in jeopardy and the bank is talking foreclosure unless we come up with $100K.

Food insecurity is at an all time high country wide estimating one in six people are in need. Just imagine that a $50 donation could feed a family with 2 kids for days in conjunction with the food banks. How would you feel if you knew you helped those kids eat healthy vegetables for a week?

I have dedicated my life to helping feed people over the past decade. I started a volunteer project called “Food for the Hungry” here on Maplewood Organic Farm, the first organic farm in western Ma. My teams of dozens of farm angel helpers (from 3-93yrs.old) have lovingly planted and tended, harvested and distributed over 22Klbs, thats 11 Tons of organic produce to the local survival centers, soup kitchens and several community organizations. My helpers always say that they get much more out of being on this magnificent farm than what they actually put in. "Many hands make light work"
Last summer our chosen donation site was Not Bread Alone in Amherst. On the days that the Amherst Survival Center is closed NBA serves between 150-250 hot lunches per week along with to-go bagged lunches. On Saturdays there are banquet tables filled with groceries and fresh produce for all to take home in big bags and boxes. I make sure we amp up on the kale, collards, chard for them.

This is Cody my 13yr old Belgian draft horse who supplies the entire community with the grace and beauty of his presence. He is in need of a biopsy of a tumor under his chin and treatment that will be recommended. If you know horse lovers please pass this along to them. Vet bills are sky high and Cody deserves the best of care.

We had no need to ask for anything in return in the past but now our ability to continue to do this service without financial help has changed. There are over 5000 seeds planted in the greenhouse right now and still more to be planted. One pin size broccoli seed yields over a dozen mature heads. I am always in awe of that miracle. That same greenhouse will need a new clear plastic covering this season and our work horse tractors need costly repairs and we may even need a new lawn tractor because of its age parts are no longer available and there are the standard operating costs of seeds and soil etc.

With a shocking diagnosis of Cancer in Feb and surgery on March 1st my hospital and doctor bills are piling up. I need your help to continue my mission to get healthy food to mothers, children & families in our community and to receive the alternative care I need for a full recovery. One of the biggest lessons with this health crisis I am facing is that I can't do this on my own and I am learning to ask for the help and assistance that I need. Humbly and sincerely I open to receive.

Please pray, volunteer or grace us with monetary gifts that are so needed to keep on “helping those in need.”
Thank you in advance, your support is a blessing. We do not qualify for grants because we have not grown for profit and everything has been donated in the past.
Will you help save our farm, my mission and get the health care I need?
Every little bit helps(even the cost of one latte) and by contributing to me you have my promise to continue to help others receive healthy organic produce that they otherwise could not afford. Your help means the world to me and to those we can help eat healthier.
We do care and we do share and want to continue to do so with your generosity

.....Please share this fundraiser with all your friends and family. Thank You!......
