Help Jamir Brown Compete in USATF Championships
Donation protected
My name is Jamir Brown. I am a 19-year-old track athlete from New Jersey. I come from a family of athletes, so it's in my DNA. When I run, I am free as the wind. I have been running since I can remember. My parents tell me I ran an entire track field at the age of 4.
I discovered hurdles when I was 11 years old, and I won USATF Nationals for my age group too. I love track and field. My other track event is the long jump. During my sophomore and junior year of high school, I had a knee injury and had to have knee surgery. I had to sit out and couldn't compete for a year; it felt like the longest recovery time of my life ever! Through hard work, dedication, and physical therapy, I was cleared to return to the track and haven't looked back since.
During my senior year at Riverside High School, I won and broke state records in the long jump, 110 hurdles, and the 400m. Hurdles are my best event! My hometown even had a parade for me!!! Since graduating high school, I started college at Rowan University in the fall of 2024. As a freshman, I recently earned the NCAA National track and field championship for Division 3. I have been told that this is the best year that any college freshman has had for any athlete at Rowan.
My current goal is to compete at the USATF in Oregon on June 20, 2025. The trials start at 4:51 pm, and finals are at 6:15 pm. Usually, the university handles everything financially, but because I am transferring to Syracuse University this fall, I have to participate as an independent athlete and pay all of my expenses out of pocket from airfare, hotel, food, and equipment. I am fundraising to cover my expenses and reaching out to my village, my community of friends, family, and classmates so that I may continue to excel in track and field. No donation is too small or too big. Hurdles and track and field are my superpower! My future goals are to participate in the Olympics, hopefully in 2028. I have trained and worked hard for this all of my life. With everyone's help, I can get to Oregon and win!
