Jam has spent years showing up for other people. Right now, we are asking our community to show up for her.

If you've been part of Buffalo's queer community, music scene, nightlife, or creative community, there's a chance you've crossed paths with Jam - even if you didn't realize it. Whether she's managing stages at a festival, mixing your favorite artists at venues, or on the dance floor at the events she throws - she is responsible for Buffalo sounding as good as it does.

Jam has consistently used her skills and resources to create spaces where people feel welcome, seen, and supported.

She has thrown events that bring people together, provided work opportunities to queer people and people of color, and intentionally poured back into the communities she's a part of. She's the kind of person who believes that when you have an opportunity to open a door for someone else, you do it.

Now, she needs us to show up for her.

Freelance work comes with very little security, and recently, she's been hit with financial hardship that she has done everything she can to handle on her own. She didn't want to ask for help. She has tried to work through it, catch up, and figure it out herself, but sometimes trying your hardest simply isn't enough to get through a difficult stretch.

Right now, she needs help covering her rent, expenses, and necessary repairs to her truck. Her truck isn't just transportation - reliable transportation is essential to her ability to take jobs, transport what she needs for work, and continue earning an income.

We're creating this fundraiser because we don't want her to have to carry all of this by herself.

The goal is simple: help her get her housing and bills taken care of, get her truck repaired, and help her focus on getting back on her feet without constantly trying to outrun the next expense.

There is something especially difficult about asking for help when you're usually the person giving it but community can't only mean showing up when things are good. It means catching each other when things get hard, too.

She has spent years investing her time, labor, creativity, and heart into Buffalo's queer and POC communities. We're hoping we can return even a fraction of that care to her now.
