Dear Family, Friends, Donors, Community & Supporters!
My name is Jamila Douglas. I am a single mother and a full-time caregiver to an autistic daughter and a full-time caregiver to my father, Oliver Douglas, who suddenly passed on June 15, 2025.
For the past three years, my father has been living with me under my supervision, care, and support. He suffered from severe seizures, mild strokes, paralysis, dementia, congestive heart failure, and pneumonia. Since February of 2025, he was diagnosed with dementia and was placed on hospice. I then knew it would be a matter of time before I could possibly lose my best friend, my protector, MY FATHER. He was a great person; he would literally DO anything to help any and everyone. He was always there for me, there for others, even strangers. He had a heart of gold, and he felt good when everyone he loved was taken care of.
During this difficult time, I am asking for help and support to raise my goal of $1000 to help me pay for his cremation service, and manage my household finances until I get a job. He does not have an insurance policy or savings, and my only source of income was being his caregiver provider. This is how I was able to survive, keep bills paid, and a roof over our heads. I have two weeks to raise money for his service and to cover next month's expenses.
