Help Jamie & Yukiko Through Her Cancer Battle in Japan

Hello my name is Maryann, I am Jamie’s sister and I am trying to raise funds to help Jamie and Yukiko to pay for medical expenses and treatment in her fight with cancer.

It all started with stomach pain, bloating, and a sense that something wasn’t quite right. After several tests and a CT scan, Yukiko received a diagnosis that turned their world upside down: stomach cancer.

From that moment on, life changed drastically. Yukiko was admitted to Vancouver General Hospital while more tests and biopsies were done. Her husband Jamie never left her side, staying with her day and night to offer comfort and support.

After learning more about her diagnosis, they made the difficult but hopeful decision to travel to Osaka, Japan—Yukiko’s hometown—where she could be surrounded by family and receive specialized treatment at the Osaka Cancer Institute. She’s now undergoing a 9-week course of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, with a possibility of longer treatment.

Being away from home is not easy. Jamie is unable to work during this time, and the costs are adding up—hospital expenses, room and board ($169/day), and rent back in Canada. They’re not ones to ask for help, but right now, they could truly use some support.
