● Jamie is going through difficult times since her husband's recent stroke that led to the discovery of a rare blood disease called Moyamoya.
● Her husband was paralyzed from the stroke, but now can walk and move. However, he is unable to coordinate his body to do daily living. Her husband is getting brain surgery 11/16 to allow for more oxygen to his brain and reduce the chances of future strokes.
● Jamie is in need of financial support (child's school tuition and husbands home-care costs) as her husband, who is the primary income provider, will no longer receive salary from December. (Details are below in Jamie's letter.)
Some of Jamie's friends have graciously offered help to cover immediate costs, but there will have to be further help to go through this difficult time.
Here are the costs that could be covered by your help.
►5 months of preschool tuition for her child = $5,000
►1 month of caregiving for her husband = $6,600
Total of $11,600.
The following is Jamie's letter to you:

Hello, I am Jamie Paik and my family is in need of your prayers and support.
My husband was diagnosed with a rare blood disease called Moyamoya when he had a slight stroke on September 21st. Left side of his body was slightly paralyzed and he was in the ICU for 2 weeks. He is awaiting his bypass brain surgery on November 16th and will be continuing his physical and speech therapy as an outpatient from home. Until he has the brain surgery, he will have a restricted flow of oxygen and therefore will be prone to more strokes. We are doing our best to not let that happen by keeping him on a strict diet due to his diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, at least until his surgery. He might need another bypass surgery in the future as the doctor thinks his brain is affected on both sides but that will not be clear until after his first surgery.
I have a history of depression from childhood domestic violence, neglect, deaths in the family and sexual harassment. But now with everything that’s been happening to the us, I have been holding on by a thread. I've been having severe and constant anxiety/panic attacks and has been physically weak from trying to adjust to nauseating antidepressants. I have connected to both a therapist and a psychiatrist to take therapy and try different antidepressants.
Our three year old son, for the first time, had to be away from his mom, whom he was always with 24/7. It’s been really hard for me, especially in the morning getting my son ready for school and sending him off when he is crying and wanting to be with mommy. But outside of school, he is a happy kid, and has been his usual self, thankfully.
We were missionaries on the college campuses for about 6-9 years until my husband had a recent career change trying to better support our elderly parents and I became a stay-at-home-mom for our son. My husband was the sole provider financially so we are worried about making ends meet once the hospital bills start rolling out.
Please pray for miraculous healing on our mental and physical health and that God will be glorified through our testimonies of breakthroughs and overcomings.
We thank you for your fervent prayers and gracious support. May God bless you and your household a thousandfold.
