Hi, my name is Jamie Carlsen, and I’m fundraising on behalf of myself following a serious and unexpected medical emergency after undergoing ACL, Meniscus, and MPFL surgery on my right knee.
On June 12th, shortly after surgery at the Orthopedic Surgery Center of Wisconsin, I experienced a critical complication and was urgently transported to Waukesha Memorial, and later to St. Luke’s, where I spent a total of three days in the ICU. I was diagnosed with acute respiratory failure, pulmonary edema, and anemia. I had to be placed on high-flow oxygen the entire time. It was a terrifying and traumatic experience. It’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
Because of this emergency, I’ve been out of work for the past two weeks unpaid. Between lost wages and the mounting costs of ICU care, diagnostics, medications, and follow-up appointments, the financial burden has become overwhelming.
I’m humbly asking for financial support during this difficult time. My parents are unable to assist due to their own circumstances, and I don’t qualify for government aid because I’m technically still employed.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply send words of encouragement, I’d be incredibly grateful. Your support truly means the world to me.
With love and thanks,
Jamie
