Help Jamie go to World Scout Jamboree 2023, Korea

Hello!

I'm Jamie. I'm 15 and an Explorer Scout from Perth, Scotland. I have been selected as one of the young people to attend the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea in summer 2023. To achieve this, I need to raise a whopping £4,000 – and I would love your support.

The World Scout Jamboree (WSJ), held every four years, is the largest worldwide gathering of Scouts aged 14-17. It is a 12-day camp with roughly 40,000 Scouts. The WSJ is a huge event, packed full of camping, cooking, festivities celebrating cultures from across the world, activities teaching unique and exciting skills, and so much more!

I am one of 36 lucky people selected to join the Jamboree as part of the East of Scotland contingent. As with any event, it comes with a cost. The £4,000 needed to be raised is not just for the cost of attending the Jamboree. This fee covers transport, training camps, food, equipment, and part of it supports Scouts from poorer nations to attend.

Since I was six, I have been in Scouting, starting as a Beaver, then Cub, Scout and now as an Explorer Scout and Young Leader. I have been lucky enough to participate in some fantastic activities that have helped me grow as a person.

In the lead up to the event, I want to share the excitement with other young people. After I've been to South Korea, I will share my experiences and promote how this global event has helped me and communities around the world.

In Korea, over 40,000 people will take part in different activities and programs, making friends and learning to understand cultures from all over the world. It will be the most fantastic experience.

I want to raise around £4,000 for my adventure of a lifetime. I plan to raise money with my cleaning job, making and selling things, quiz nights, car washes, events and more. I would appreciate anybody who's able to support my trip. Honestly, anything you can give would be very much appreciated.
