Help Jamie Find Relief Through Water Therapy

Donation protected
Every morning is a battle. The simple act of getting Jamie out of bed is a Herculean task. His body, once an instrument of precision, is now a battlefield of pain and limitation. Each movement is a victory, a testament to his fighting spirit.

Jamie was my everything. The boy next door who stole my heart in high school, the Navy SEAL who risked his life for our country, the devoted father who was the cornerstone of our family.

Then, in an instant it was ripped apart. A senseless accident shattered our world. Jamie, in a desperate act of love, he shielded our boys when he steered his truck so that he would take a direct impact with the tree at 50 mph to spare our boys. Chase diid sustain a broken neck and broken back but sparing his spinal cord, and Pierce was saved from injury but in turn saved his Dad's life at the scene.

But the cost was unimaginable. His body, a fortress of strength, was reduced to a fragile shell. His mind, once sharp and brilliant, now struggles to form simple sentences.

Watching the man I love deteriorate is a torment beyond words. Water is Jamie's sanctuary, a place where the weight of his multiple injuries seems to lift, even if just for the time he is in the water. To witness his joy there is a bittersweet agony, a stark contrast to the pain that consumes him on land.

Throughout the day are more mini battles. I have to sometimes "beg" him to do certain things such as eat more, drink more, stretch more. Sadly, he gets his pleasures out of life if I place the pillow between his legs just right, or I place heat on his body because he is cold, or when he is able to fully pull up his shorts in one try while attempting to stand half bent forward.

This week we rocked out to Metallica in the car while we waited for water therapy...I played the drums and he played the guitar. He was so proud of himself for remembering most of the words, but even though he was laughing I was sad. Sad that his enjoyments in life come down to this. Other than music, being in the water also brings him joy.

A therapeutic rehabilitation spa is a necessity for Jamie. It's a chance to alleviate his suffering, to help him regain a measure of independence. He can walk in water!

Please help us afford this for him so he can experience this healing more than 45 mins a week. The requested donation is, honestly, just fraction of the total cost. But this will be more than just a small body of water with an underwater treadmill and bike to him; it's a lifeline, a chance to restore a semblance of normalcy to our lives.
