My husband Jamie has been diagnosed with colon cancer, and his surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday. We are trying to stay strong, but this has been one of the hardest times of our lives. Because we do not have insurance, the medical bills have already reached over $402,000, and we still don’t know what additional care or treatment he will need after the operation.

Over the past few weeks, Jamie has missed several days of work due to doctor visits, tests, and appointments. I’ve also had to miss work to take him to those appointments. With the surgery coming up, we know there will be even more time away from work for both of us — and it’s putting a lot of financial pressure on our family.

On top of all that, we are moving into a new house in just 2 weeks, and with Christmas only a few weeks away, everything is hitting us at once. We are overwhelmed, stressed, and trying our best to manage everything, but it’s becoming too much to handle alone.
