“It’s cancer” are words you never want to hear. “We’re not sure exactly what type it is, or the best way to treat it” are even worse. When the news is for your loving spouse and dedicated mother of your 2 young children, it’s devastating.
For the last 2 and a half years, my loving wife, mother to two young children, and USAF veteran, Jamie, has been fiercely battling an aggressive form of tumorous cancer in her chest. She has endured traumatic surgery, resulting infections, daily radiation treatments, multiple chemotherapies, and immunotherapies. Due to the cancer, she has been forced to live with a painful open wound for almost 2 years now, fighting the constant risk of additional infection.
Unfortunately, after Jamie’s most recent chemotherapy treatment, she developed blood clots throughout her right arm and chest. These blood clots have added daily blood thinner injections to her healing battle. This clotting has compromised most of the functionality in her right arm, leaving her in constant pain.
Throughout this battle, Jamie and I have remained dedicated to the belief that she would beat this cancer, for herself and for her family. To help get her to that place of “cancer survivor,” Jamie has started receiving naturopathic medical treatments, which offer her a promise of a return to health. After approximately 3 weeks of these treatments, we can tell that there has been some encouraging improvement in her wound.
These naturopathic treatments are unfortunately expensive and not covered by any insurance. Her doctor has quoted us as much as $10k per month.
Asking for help can be hard, and Jamie has always been a fiercely independent person, but fighting cancer requires a team effort. Whatever donation you are able and willing to give to help Jamie stay in the fight and continue her treatments will be appreciated more than you could ever know. If you’re unable to donate, thoughts, prayers, and positive energy directed her way are always welcome.
Thank you,
Jamie’s Family
