Hello, I'm Jamie's Mom, on Nov 2nd my girl went to the hospital in pain. Being about 13 weeks pregnant she was really concerned (she had suffered 2 miscarriages already this year) at the hospital they did all the usual tests. They discovered a kidney stone and sent her home. Well later that evening the doctor called and told Jamie she had tumors on her kidneys and cysts covering her lungs. An extremely scary thing to hear. Since we've learned she has a rare disease called LAM. Not a lot of doctors are too familiar with this condition. She's been seeing a lot of specialist. She had an MRI last week and discovered the large non cancerous tumor on her kidney was bleeding and told if it ruptures she could bleed to death. So she was rushed to have surgery to stop the bleeding. Once in there they discovered it was two of them bleeding. She has been in a lot of pain since the surgery since being pregnant she can have only minimal pain meds. After a few days she was released from the hospital. The next night she was sleeping and woke up with a sharp pain and could barely breath. She called me saying she thought her lung collapsed. Sure enough she had a collapsed lung and was taken to University of Maryland where the had to put in a chest tube. They have been monitoring the baby very closely. Yesterday she had a sonogram and baby girl seems very healthy and is measuring exactly where she should be. The bad part about this disease is that because of being pregnant her hormones aggravate this disease and makes it worse. So this can keep happening throughout her pregnancy. She is 17 weeks as of now. This is Jamie's last chance to have a baby because of her health.
Jamie has been out of work since November 2nd and will be on bed rest the rest of her pregnancy so she will be out of work until probably summer. Jamie's has always been a hard worker for her and her boy Khalil and has been at the same job for over 10 years. Stress makes this disease worse and I'm trying to help lessen the burden.
If you can help my girl in any way I would so appreciate anything all. Please pray for my baby, it's all so scary. Thank you so much and God Bless you all.
