Help Wyatt & Garner Families Rebuild After Hurricane Helene

My dear colleague and friend’s family has been ravaged by Hurricane Helene. Like many across the country, they lost everything. Nothing was spared in their family home of 40+ years where generations of children have been raised – family photos, children’s toys, cherished heirlooms, all lost. The crushing emotional toll of cleaning out a home that was filled with love and memories and now stands as a shell has been especially difficult, not only for them, but for those who are in their lives. As long time Florida residents, this family has deep roots in their community, and despite facing their own challenges, continues to offer help to others affected by the hurricane. The overwhelming amount of loss has left them with an incredibly long and challenging journey ahead. She lived in this home with her aging parents, 3-year-old son, husband, and is pregnant with her second child. Once preparing for medical costs and life with a new baby, they now have to rebuild from the ground up and find a place to live.
