Jami is a mother to three daughters, the youngest just 16. At only 46, she has faced more medical challenges than most people do in a lifetime. Born with a congenital heart defect that went undiagnosed. Being told I have major anxiety my entire life caused much more damage than necessary. Which I am suffering the consequences as we speak. In 2014 she moved to Lubbock Texas. She wasn’t feeling good and went to an TTHS and was walked immediately over to a surgeon at the UMC building. And within 2 weeks underwear the first aortic valve replacement. But this point significant damage had already been done. That was just the beginning. In 2018 she needed another aortic valve replacement along with the aortic root. She had no many clots everywhere he later told her it looked like a confetti popper of clots  Her heart was so weak and swollen that she was intubated for an extended period and placed on an ECMO machine as well. Due to the swelling of her heart and uncertainty, her chest had to be left open to allow for cardiac massaging if needed, to give her heart a chance to recover and swelling to go down. Jami was surrounded by those who love her and helped her fight and prayed very hard for her Since then, she has faced many other health complications, including  blood clots on the mechanical valve itself and having blood clots break off requiring in total six procedures
( thrombectomy) one leg was at 100% occlusion. She still even has the before and after pictures the surgeon actually let her have because she was impressed Ihow she had remained working or really anything at all and  also how it had been occluded so long it had made it own collateral blood flow. REMEMBER SHOWED NO REGULAR SYMPTOMS AT ALL!! Be your own advocate ladies!!! Her health has been a roller coaster, and she also needed a pacemaker because her heart rate was dangerously low. Now, she is facing a new and very scary diagnosis: advanced stage heart failure. Oh and to top of that, she just sound out 2 weeks ago in her routine echo that she urgently needs her mitral valve replaced. With a very large leak and calcification of the leaflet. With her being in advanced heart failure that alone makes her a  high risk patient.  surgeries will no longer be able to take place at either hospital in Lubbock. She must now travel to Fort Worth for her mitral valve surgery. Jami is unable to drive or work. She does have documentation from her doctors stating she is unable to work at all. She does have a lawyer and has we are just waiting for disability determination “approval” positive thinking for positive outcomes ♥️ unfortunately she has not received anything from disability this has left her in a position to have to ask strangers who don’t know her to help her. With the fear of the surgery she has. She has also been having anxiety and stress of the financial situation.
To name just a few..Traveling to and from for preop appointments, meeting the surgeon, any bloodwork or procedures thst may be needed, the traveling again for post op appointments, needing to be there a day in advance before the surgery and realistically having to take at least a night to recover a little more after being discharge.  She will not be able to hop in a vehicle and ride over 2 hours home stopping every 20 to 40 minutes to move around while in pain. Because recovery is painful idc what surgery you ever had recovering is just wheeeeeww. A LOT!!!! She is a wonderful person who would do the same for anyone else in need. Any amount helps and is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to donate it’s totally understandable we are all riding the struggle bus. But please share and help us get her story out there and pray! Lots of prayers are always needed and welcomed!!!
