My Soul Sister is hurting! Life has a way of humbling us, and Jami finds herself in a place she never expected—unable to work since September due to chronic illness that causes severe pain, sometimes preventing her from even getting out of bed, complicated by a hematological (blood) disorder. She is also currently struggling through an antibiotic resistant infection that two rounds of antibiotics have not been able to cure, draining her of what little energy she still had. Though she no longer has to take isolation precautions, her body and spirit are so very tired of fighting every day; I can hear it in her voice. I miss her mischievous spark, her love of adventure and mostly hearing her laughter. She has always been able to find humor, no matter how dark (her specialty), in any situation but that has gradually diminished, and it breaks my heart. These health challenges have become overwhelming, making it impossible for her to manage without the support of friends, family, and community who have always meant so much to her.
All of Jami’s friends know that if they ever needed anything, they could turn to her and she would do whatever she could; financially, emotionally, or just lend a compassionate ear. Now she needs you.
Asking for help has never come easily to Jami, as we all know, but the kindness and generosity already shown by so many has been a powerful reminder that she is not facing this difficult chapter alone.
To everyone who has donated so far: Jami is deeply grateful. If you know her well, you know she is an incredibly strong and independent person, but the outpouring of compassion and help from friends and community moved her to tears - something I have rarely seen in our 25 year long friendship.
Your compassion has provided not only financial relief for medical bills and equipment, but hope, comfort, and a sense of connection during an incredibly trying, isolating time.
If you are able, please consider making a donation—no matter the amount, every contribution truly makes a difference. And if donating isn’t possible, sharing this page is another meaningful way to help.
Thank you for taking the time to read, for your support, and for standing with someone who finds it hard to ask for help but now needs the strength and kindness of her community more than ever.
Love,
Mimi
