Help James Walk Again

Donation protected
James Nimo Sam Tucal is a 13-year-old boy living in a small village in the Philippines. Born on January 20, 2012, James has always been known for his kindness and his willingness to help his family, especially his siblings, while his mother works far away in the city. Despite growing up in poverty, James has shown remarkable resilience and hope. He used to love playing soccer with his friends, dreaming of one day returning to the field after a tragic accident changed his life.

When James was about nine years old, he was struck by a speeding car while playing in his neighborhood. The driver fled the scene, leaving James with severe injuries that led to the amputation of his leg just below the knee. Without the financial means for proper medical care or a prosthetic, James has had to crawl on all fours to get around, only recently gaining access to a crutch. His determination to help his family and continue his education, despite these challenges, is truly inspiring.

As someone who also lost a leg in a similar accident, I felt a deep connection to James and promised to help him. After returning home to El Paso, TX, I shared James’s story with my prosthetist, who generously offered to donate a custom prosthetic leg for James. The funds raised through this GoFundMe will be used to cover travel expenses for measuring and fitting James, delivering the prosthetic, supporting his ongoing physical therapy, and providing essentials like shoes, clothes, and school books. Your support will help James regain his mobility, pursue his dreams, and continue caring for his family.
