James Chlastawa is a 75-year-old friend who has been legally blind for many years. He lives alone in a trailer community in Taylor, MI, and his only source of income is social security. Recently, James's furnace broke down and, unfortunately, it cannot be repaired. This has left him without proper heat as winter approaches, and he simply does not have the funds or income to finance a new furnace on his own.
A local charity, Be Well My Friends, has generously offered James a grant toward the cost of a new furnace. However, the total cost to replace the furnace is more than he can afford, leaving James still in need of help to make his home safe and warm again. Without a working furnace, James has been forced to spend all his time in a single room with a space heater, which has made him feel even more isolated and alone.
Having a new furnace would mean so much to James. It would allow him to move freely and comfortably throughout his home, stay safe and healthy during the cold months, and feel less solitary. We are reaching out to our community for help—any contribution, big or small, will bring James closer to the warmth and comfort he deserves. Thank you for your kindness and support.
