Help James McClaskey Rebuild His Home

Donation protected
Hello, some of you may know, some of you may not, but over the last several years, my friend James McClaskey has been working on a home he bought back in 2021. When he bought the home, its condition was awful. It had extensive termite damage, needed a lot of work all around and essentially needed to be rebuilt from the inside out.

To do this, James required tools- a lot of them. Over the years, he acquired around $3,000 worth and used them every day to complete the tasks at hand, so that he and his partner could eventually move in some day.

Everything was going smoothly until the night of June 26th. James arrived at his home the next morning to continue work when he discovered the entire back window of his home, including the security bars and window frame, had been taken off the side of his house. He entered his home only to find that all of his tools had been stolen. Everything.

This included hammers, drills, his circular saw, heirloom tools from his father, batteries and levels. The most important and expensive items that were taken were his plainer, table saw and chop saw.

To say James was devastated would be an understatement. He’d been working on rebuilding his home for years at this point and had gathered many tools in order to do that. He was in the home stretch too. He didn’t just lose the tools he needed, but tools that had been carried down through his family for generations. There is no price for that loss, but there is a price for being unable to build your home and move into it.

As James’s friend, I’ve created this Gofundme so that he can reacquire the tools that he needs to finish the job that he started back in 2021.

There is a time constraint issue on top of all of this. He and his partner are set to end their lease on the house they’ve been renting in November. That only gives James three months to get the tools he needs and finish building the home before his lease runs out.

The stress of losing all of his tools, big and small, precious and expensive, has weighed on him a lot in these last few weeks. I’m asking our local community and our greater community of friends, fans of James’s music and just caring people to please donate what you can to help our buddy out. James told me he lost around $3,000 worth of tools in this theft. Please donate to this cause and give what you can.
